BEIJING, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- It is already too late to book a tour to the Palace Museum in central Beijing during the week-long Spring Festival holiday.
From Tuesday to Sunday, all tickets to the museum, which allows 80,000 visitors per day, were sold out on its official website.
Both individual and group visitors are required to book tickets online with IDs or passport numbers.
Boasting over 17.5 million visitors in 2018, the world famous heritage site is particularly attractive this year, partly because of an ongoing exhibition featuring traditional and imperial new year traditions.
During the exhibition, the entire Forbidden City is adorned with palace lanterns, new year paintings and spring couplets to create an immersive Spring Festival experience.
The special exhibition will last until April 7.
