LUSAKA, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Zambia has been awarded by the African Union (AU) for its strides in mainstreaming gender in the fight against corruption, reports said on Tuesday.
Zambia was presented with this year's AU Gender Scorecard Awards at the 32nd summit in Ethiopia, and the award was received by Zambia's Minister of Gender Elizabeth Phiri on behalf of President Edgar Lungu.
President Lungu's government has appointed women to key positions, such as vice president and heads of the judiciary and key enforcement agencies.
