TASHKENT, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese have won a truly historic victory over poverty by lifting nearly 100 million people out of poverty, which can be a good example for others, Uzbek journalist and political observer Sharofitdin Tulaganov said.
Tulaganov said that he visited China twice, in 2011 and in 2016 respectively, and toured some different regions, so he can witness the results of China's poverty elimination.
"When I visited China for the first time, the poverty among the certain parts of the population could still be felt, and China recognized it," Tulaganov told Xinhua in an interview on Tuesday.
"When I came back five years later, I saw a huge difference," he said.
As a result of the skillful management of the top leadership and the hard work of the Chinese people, China has undergone colossal changes in all spheres of life, Tulaganov said.
"A new modern infrastructure has appeared, the living conditions of people have improved significantly. This success demonstrates the unity of the Chinese Communist Party and the state power with the people," he said.
Tulaganov noted that currently Uzbekistan is also taking serious measures to eradicate poverty and Chinese experiences can be very useful in this regard.
"In this direction, we need to thoroughly study and apply the Chinese experience of poverty alleviation in the country. I think it will bring results in the future," he said. Enditem
